Intimacy is important for love: Tarina

LAST seen as a sexy ghost in Sex On The Beach in Dus Kahaniyaan, Tarina Patel will show off her glamorous side once again in her next movie. The actress, who plays a journalist in Chase, appears in an intimate bathtub scene with co-star Anuj Saxena. Do such scenes make her uncomfortable? “What goes into a shoot and the final product that we see on-screen are two different things. When we shoot private moments, it’s done with lots of people watching it. You should be comfortable with yourself as an actor as you do scenes just to portray a character,” she says.Tarina adds that you need to be professional about such scenes. “To show love between two characters, you need to show a certain level of intimacy between them. That’s the case with my scene as well,” she clarifies.Tarina, however, says that she isn’t choosing only glamorous roles. “My roles in Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Just Married are in stark contrast to my role in Chase. But you can’t go against the grain too often. If people see you in a certain light, they tend to typecast you. If the team that I work with perceives me as glamorously pretty, who am I to argue? I just want to work with good directors and on good scripts,” she says.Tarina has just returned from LA and is busy with shows and movies in South Africa. “I’m doing more American work, but will continue to do movies in India as well,” she signs off.Follow us on Twitter for more stories
